Connections
I'll write about Jackson when I have more time.
Do you know one of those people who has a connection for everything? I'm not usually that person, that person for me is generally my little brother. Every time I talk to Jared he says, "I've got a buddy who does such and such...". It always makes me laugh. However, lately I've had my fair share of "connections", which have been providing some pretty exciting stuff. Tomorrow I'm going to book club, one of the ladies in my book club is "buddies" with Bree Despain, the author of The Dark Divine (awesome book!). I can hardly wait to go and meet her!!!! Also, this weekend I got a call from another buddy who has a buddy who is hooking me up with some cool upcoming things! Whoa who!!! I love having "buddies" with connections! So much fun!

MIA
I know I've missed a couple of days, but that's because I've been in Jackson at the Hill Climbs! Yea, lucky me!! We had such a great time, I just can't believe it's over! I don't have time to go into a lot of details tonight. I'll post more tomorrow.
As for my favorite, one of my favorite places to go: Jackson, WY - love it there!

As Tall, headed to taller
Yesterday I wrote about how tall Kassy is getting. I knew that she was getting taller, but I didn't realize how tall she had gotten until last night. Kassy and I were standing by each other in the kitchen. I was wearing flip flops (of course), and she had on her tennis shoes. Dave said, "Kassy, stand next to your mom....I think you are taller than she is." Sure enough in her tennis shoes she was. We took our shoes off and stood back to back, in our bare feet I am slightly taller, but Dave thinks it might have been my hair, it was kind of puffy yesterday. I knew that someday she would be taller than me, and I am fine with it, however, I just didn't think it would be this soon. What happened to my little girl? Heck, what happened to my babies? 12, 8, and 6, how did that happen?

Utah Weather
You know you are living in Utah when you can wear flip flops one day, and it snows the next. Even though it snowed, I still have hope that warmer weather is right around the corner. It won't be long before I am thinking, "dang it is hot, I wish it would cool down, just a little bit." Gotta love it here!
Cody asked me this morning, when I woke him up and told him it had snowed last night, "Why does it snow when it is Spring?" That is a good question. I answered him with, "The same reason it is sunny and warm sometimes in the fall." Crazy weather.
Jessy went back to school today. She complained about her stomache when she first gotta up, but was able to pull it together enough to go to school. Will see if that lasts. The Doctor said we should see a difference within 3 - 5 days of the medicine is going to work. Keep your fingers crossed for her. Poor thing!!
Have a mentioned how stinkin tall Kassy is getting?! When I help her with her hair she has to sit down cause I can't reach her head. Good thing she likes to do it mostly on her own. I am pretty sure she is almost as tall as I am and still growing. When she was little her Doctor said he thought she would top out at about 6 Feet!
Gotta get back to my cleaning! My frig and freezer are nice and clean. On to dusting and vaccuming my bedroom.
Favorite cleaning supply: Clorox Clean-Up (I love the smell of Clorox. Is that weird?)

Black Hole
Jessy is still having stomach troubles. We thought we had gotten her issues in control last week, but dang it, not so much. We ended up back at the doctors office this morning. He said that the Stomach is like a Black Hole, it's difficult to see and figure out what is wrong with it. Because of that, we have to eliminate things one at a time. So, for the next week we are going to give Jessy prilosec to see if that helps, if not we go back in next week and they'll do an Ultra Sound on her stomach. Poor little girl, she seems to have all the "fun"!
On an upside, I was able to get my house all dusted today, now on to the vacuming. Most of my cupboards and closets have been organized. Gotta love spring cleaning!

Girls Night
I love being a mom and wife, but sometimes it is great to escape it and just hang with the girls! What a fun night! It turned out being a small group, a lot of people had to cancel at last minute, your loss ladies! The "girls" included Scarlett, Kristen, Melissa, Jennifer (my big sis), Corrine - later, and me. I'd post pictures, but Dave has the camera out at the desert.
We headed to the movie theatre to get our tickets, but were unable to get tickets to the show and time we wanted. We ended up seeing Remember Me. This was my second time seeing this movie, and I have to admit I loved it more the second time. I wished that there wasn't so much swearing in it, but I loved the story line and how it ended.... I know, I know, you that have seen it are thinking, "you loved how it ended". I did, it really made me think and ponder life.
After the movie we went and ate at 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. YUMMY!! Sorry Melissa and Kristen, I should have warned you that one large fry would have been sufficient for us all. What a blessing it is to have that restaurant here in UTAH. hehehe! I think it might have surpassed my favorite burger place which has been HIRES for years.
Mom callings came into place after dinner, and Kristen ended up going home. Kristen, don't feel bad about leaving, any of us would have done the same thing. Our motherly instincts kick in and we feel the need to protect, and take care of our kids, and our husbands. It's fun to get away from reality, but in the end our families take precedent. That's what being a good mom and wife is all about. Jennifer left after dinner as well, she didn't care about the next event - whatever, still love you!
Lost two gained one. Corrine had a show at the Desert Star, can't wait to see it, but hooked up with us after she was done. We headed to Walmart to get our copies of NEW MOON. We went to the Walmart in Jordan Landing, it wasn't very happening, but we were able to get our copies without any difficulty. There were some seriously weird people there!!! Great movies/books can bring out some real weirdos. I say that in the most loving way. After getting our movies we called it a night. I know that you are wondering if I stayed up and watched it, the truth is nope, and I still haven't watched it. However, I did watch the extras this morning and may I say, I can't wait until June when Eclipse comes out!!!!
Scarlett and I sat in her car and discussed the night after everyone else had headed out. We discussed our love for The Twilight Saga. I've come to the conclusion that I love the books and movies, but what I really love is the bond that I have created with some of my very most favorite people. Crazy how a book series has brought us together and made us so close. Thanks Stephanie Meyer.
Last but not least a confession. I keep telling myself that I am not obsessed and totally in love with the Twilight Saga, that I have moved on, but that is a big fat lie. I love it now more then ever!!! I am able to do other things and read other books, but I still go back to Twilight when I need a pick me up. So now you know the truth, I am a TWILIGHT JUNKIE!
PS. Thanks Dave for letting me have a girls night out, cleaning up puke (hehehe, I am so glad it was you that had to do it not me), and letting me obsess about Twilight, and not giving me to hard a time about it.

Spring Cleaning
Even though today wasn't as warm as it's been the past few days, I have officially started my spring cleaning. If you walk around my house you might not notice anything different, you might even say it is cluttery. That is due to the bags of "stuff" that need to be taken to the DI, as well as other random things that I need to get rid of. Open my cabinets and closets and you are sure to see a thing of beauty. They are nice and clean, not all of them, but I'm getting there. Hopefully I can keep them that way for awhile or at least until my dad and Pat come to stay with my kids. Ok there it is, the truth as to why my spring cleaning has begun. My dad is a clean freak and he is coming to stay at my house for a couple of days. I'm not sure he'll even go into my washroom, but by dang all the cabinets in their have been wiped down and cleaned out. Last time he stayed with the kids I left him some money to go out to dinner with and he ended up buying Lime Away with it so he could scrub my tub out, "Lime Away can do wonders", apparently it wasn't up to par. I'm not sure I'll get to my blinds before he comes, but if I don't, maybe I'll get lucky and he'll notice and clean them for me. (hint, hint, hopefully you'll read this dad - Doubt it, but a girl can hope.)
Tomorrow's goal is to get all the clutter stuff taken care of, then maybe a quick cleaning of the frig and under the sink. Major dusting and vacuuming will have to wait until last minute, as well as once more on the bathrooms, so that it looks spotless when he comes.
Favorite Veggies:
1. Peas from the garden
2. Steamed Cauliflower
3. Cucumbers
4. Artichokes
5. Asparagus cooked in butter and garlic

Lifted by Sounds
This morning when my alarm went off, at 5:00am, I thought, "NO, I don't want to get up. Knowing that others were counting on my as their ride, I rolled out of bed and reluctantly got ready to go to the gym. Even while I was at the gym I dragged a bit, thinking, "I hate daylight savings time, and dang, I should be in bed." When I pulled into my driveway I contemplated climbing back into my bed and going back to sleep for 20 minutes before I got the kids up, but then, I opened the car door and heard an amazing sound that lifted my spirits. It was the sound of birds chirping. It was so beautiful. The sound gave me energy and hope that spring had begun to sprung. Hurray for spring time. I pulled out the flip flops, and man do they feel great on my pigs. I even covered my toenails with a coat of green finger nail polish. All I can say is, "top of the morning to ya." It's been a pretty great day!

What'sup, Part II
Back to What'sup. At Matt's farewell (Dave's cousin), he was talking about how the Savior asked His disciples to come "Sup" with him. In the Scriptures "Sup", means to partake. We also might recognize the phrase in slang such as what'sup (pretty sure that's one word). SUP also could be an acronym, meaning S - Study, U - Utilize, and P - Pray. Matt told about a friend of his who has a picture of the Savior with his hand in a fist like manner, every time he passes this picture he brings his fist up and gives a "what'sup" to the Savior, using both the slang and acronym meaning of this word. Seeing this picture reminds him that the Savior has asked us to come "sup" with Him, to partake of His spirit, to utilize our time to learn about Him, and to pray to Him. Pretty sure that I will never hear the slang "what'sup" the same. I will think about this talk and "what'sup" really should mean.

Today we went to a farewell for Dave's cousin Matt. He gave this great analogy using "what'sup". Don't have time to blog about it tonight, so you'll have to read tomorrows entry for details.

SNOWY SATURDAY
Yes, I did say snowy Saturday. Yesterday I was sure that spring was upon us, but today it snowed. Must be living in UTAH! I love snow, really I do, but I am ready for Spring, warm weather, and flip flops. I know it's right around the corner, and that's what got me through this snowy day!
The kids ans I spent the day shopping, perfect snowy day activity. Jessy and Cody both ended up with new spring wardrobes. About 15 items a piece! It was employee appreciation day at my work, and I got some killer deals that I couldn't pass up. I spent the same amount of money on Kassy but she only ended up with 5 new things. Bummer thing about bigger sizes, they come wit bigger price tags. She's asked me before when I'm going to get a job at Aero so I can get deals there, don't think that's going to happen any time soon. Lots of cute things floating around our house, just need some nicer weather.
Dave and I went and saw Remember Me, with Robert Pattinson. I'm not a huge Robert Pattinson fan, don't get me wrong, I do LOVE Edward, just not Robert Pattinson. I read that Remember Me was a good movie. I really liked it. It wasn't super up beat and happy, it was more realistic. Life isn't perfect, but you do it anyway. At first I wasn't sure where it was going and I kept thinking, great Dave's not going to let me live this down, thinking that I only wanted to see it because of Robert, but he liked it as well. There were a few scenes and words that I could have done without, but as a whole, 2 thumbs up!
Favorite Makeup items:
1. Can't live without eyeliner - like brown the best
2. Mascara is a must - Jet Black
3. Bronzer is FABULOUS
4. Love gold, copper and brown eyeshadow
5. Ever since High School I've worn pink lip gloss, can't get enough of it. It's my FAV!

Sleeping
Last night as I was laying by Jessy, because she couldn't sleep, I was pondering some of my weird sleeping habits. I know this is a bit goofy, but I thought that I would share because maybe someday my kids, and their kids, and so on and so on, will read these things and get to really know me. So instead of my Favorites, here is my list of Funny Sleeping Habits:
1. I rub my feet together to help put myself to sleep.
2. Love the satin edge on blankets, but hate satin sheets.
3. Always have to sleep on the right side of the bed.
(clarification, if you are looking at the bed from the foot board, I like the right side)
4. Have to sleep with 2 pillows. 1 hard and 1 soft
5. Generally start out curled up in a ball on my left side, but end up sleeping on my stomach.
6. My feet are always cold when I get into bed so I usually start out with sox on, but after about
five minutes I have to take them off cause it drives me crazy to sleep in sox.
7. Love to cuddle for about five minutes, but then I need my personal space.
8. Most nights I lay in bed for hours before I fall asleep, pondering "LIFE".
9. I Don't usually dream.
10. I would rather stay up late then get up early, usually ends up I go to bed late, get up early.
11. When the TV remote turns on, my eyelids turn off. I don't know why, they just do.
12. If I fall asleep on the couch, I would rather not be woken up to go to bed, because if I get woken up, I have the darndest time falling back to sleep.

The Eclipse Trailor
It's 10:30 am and I have already watched the Eclipse trailor 10 or uuhm more times. It's awesome!!!! My only issue was seeing Dallas Howard as Victoria, it's just not right. There was a clip of Victoria jumping a riven, she is wearing the same gray jacket from New Moon. It looked like Rachelle from the back, but then she turned around and it was Dallas - So WRONG! I hate it when they change people! I really loved Rachelle and am totally bugged that she isn't in this one. However, I can't wait for June to come so I can see the whole thing!

Eclipse Teaser
Hurray, the Eclipse trailer shows tomorrow. I watched the 10 second teaser, and it was just that a teaser. I loved it when Jacob said, "I'll keep fighting for you until your heart stops beating." Eclipse may be my favorite book of the series. I love the triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. I am excited to see the tent and sleeping bag scene, it is one of my favorite Twilight Saga chapters. Can't wait for the full trailer, even more so, I can't wait until June when Eclipse comes out. Next Friday New Moon comes out on DVD. You better believe I'll be out getting my copy at 12:01 am, and oh yes, I will be at the earlist possible showing I can get to see Eclipse. Love the Twilight Saga!

Weekend
What a great time we had getting together with old friends last night. It was a lot of fun reminiscing about the good old days. Oddly enough while we were waiting for our table we ran into another one of Dave's friends from High School. We haven't seen Todd and April for ages, and there they were at Joe's crab shack, just leaving. They live in West Jordan not to far from us. What a small world! We will have to hook up with them soon.
Yesterday Kassy and I went to Nordstrooms so she could get a makeover. Kind of made me cry. she looked so grown up. She hasn't been all that into makeup since I told her she could start wearing it, but I think this weekend might change all that. This morning she did her own makeup and it looked really good, almost as good as yesterdays. My kids are all growing up so fast.
After the mall, Kassy and I went to a baby shower for a girl that was in my ward when Dave and I lived in our first house. Katy was not even in young women's when we moved and now she is married with 3 kids. What impressed me the most was that she has adopted all 3 of her kids. Jackson is 11 months and Dillon and Parker were born yesterday, just in time for the shower. What made me cry is that all three of these boys have the same birth mom. The girl is 17 years old and has already had 3 kids that are 11 months apart. CRAZY! I pray for this young girl that she might be able to put her life in order and I wish joy and happiness to Katy and Ryan as they raise these 3 special kids. Next year when the twins turn 1, Jackson will have 3 weeks before he turns 2, so Katy and Ryan will have 3 boys that are 1 - Weird!
A few of Cody's favorite things: Cause he's standing right next to me.
1. Jumping on the tramp
2. Playing the WII
3. Going camping
4. Soccer
5. Shooting Hoops

Out to dinner
I love weekends when I don't have to cook. Last night we went to dinner with the kids and tonight we are going out to dinner with some friends. (The kids are eating TV Dinners.) Darn near close to a perfect weekend!

Blessed
I have been feeling rather sorry for myslef lately due to all the CRAZY things that have been going on in my life, but after talking to others about their problems, I realize I am very fortunate. I have said many times before that in Heaven I was in line to be a princess. Obviously that didn't work out so well for me, so not a princess, maybe a bit of a drama queen. I am thankful not to have the problems that others are dealing with. Crazy as it may seem Heavenly Father knew what I could and couldn't handle, even if I doubt that every once in awihle.
I am grateful for my husband, my kids, my extended family, my friends, the gospel, a free country, my dog, my home, my car, and so many other things, but mostly for my Savior who is always there for me and loves me no matter what!
My thoughts and prayers are with many of you as you are dealing with your own trials and struggles. Know that I am here for you if you need ANYTHING, and thanks for being there for me when I need you. I know I have so many people around me that I can count on. I am truly BLESSED!
A few of my favorite things:
1. Watching it snow early in the morning
2. Spring time
3. Finishing a great book
4. Finding a super deal
5. Microwave ovens (seriously, how did people survive without them?)

Email, text, or homing pigeon
Wouldn't it be nice if the answers to lifes toughest decisions where emailed, texted, or sent by homing pigeon?! I get the whole, "you learn from your experiences" thing, but we have been faced with so many LARGE, life altering desicions lately, and honestly I don't know what the right answers are. To make matters harder, when I thought I was making the right decision, it back fired and ended up making things worse. Now I am questioning all my decisions, doubting myself.
Could there really be no right or wrong answer in some cases? My mom often told me that if I didn't have a feeling leading me one way or the other that maybe both options are right. I know first hand that is not always the case, but is it true sometimes??? So confused! I told Dave last night that we were going to get chinese food so that we could get fortune cookies and that they could decide are future. I'll let you know how that works out!
One thing I don't need an email, text message, homing pigeon, or fortune cookie to tell me is how GREAT my kids are. Last night I went to parent teacher conferences and heard nothing but fabulous things about Jessy and Cody. I already knew that they were good kids (for the most part), but it is sure nice to hear others say how wonderful your children are and what a super job they are doing. Kassy is no differnet. I went to her school last week and run across the same thing. Way to go kids, I am so proud of you, keep up the great work!
Last but not least, a few of my favorite things:
1. The smell outside after it rains
2. Hand sanatizer
3. Salty and sweet together
4. Clorox clean up
4. Getting answers

Brothers and Sister
Yesterday I went to lunch with my two brothers and my sister. We try to get together every so often and have lunch. I love spending time with my siblings. They are such an important part of my life, and I would be lost without them.
A few of my favorite things: (just fyi, these aren't in any order of my favorites)
1. My best friend and sister JENNIFER
2. My big brother KELLY - Scary picture

Bachelor Finally Shocker - Not
First a few of my favorite things:
1. Dave
2. Kassy
3. Jessy
4. Cody
5. Kalea
The season finally of the bachelor to myself as well as to many others was not a surprise. Still I found myself hoping that everything I had heard was wrong, unfortunatley it was RIGHT. However, now that it is all over, and as much as I didn't like Vienna, I hope Jake and Vienna can find happiness, because in this crazy, cruel, and some time insane life, we all deserve a little bit of happiness. Good luck Vienna and Jake.
